Indo Barometer Survey: Rising Electability Trend for Both Presidential Candidates

The Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair leads by 18.8% in a national survey by Indo Barometer. The pair, number 01, recorded an electability of 50.8%, while the Prabowo-Sandi pair scored 32%, with 17.2% still undecided.

Compared to February 2019, the Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair saw a 0.6% increase, and the Prabowo-Sandi pair a 3.1% increase from the previous month. In February, Jokowi-Ma'ruf held a 21.3% lead with 50.2% of the vote, while Prabowo-Sandi received 28.9%, and 20.9% were undecided.

This survey highlights five indicators contributing to Jokowi-Ma'ruf's lead in the 2019 Presidential Election. These are: satisfaction with Jokowi's performance; Jokowi's superior personal qualities; positive public response to the three cards offered by pair 01; Jokowi's perceived representation of Muslim aspirations; and finally, Jokowi's advantage across various voter segments.

The survey was conducted from March 15-21, 2019, with 1200 respondents and a margin of error of +/-2.83%. The sampling method used was multistage random sampling, with data collected through face-to-face interviews.
