Kompas Research and Development: Jokowi's electability reaches 56%

The latest Kompas Research and Development survey shows that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) electability has increased again to 55.9% from the previous 46.3% if the 2019 General Election were held now. Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto's electability dropped to 14.1% from the previous 18.2%. Similarly, the electability of other figures dropped to 23.6% from the previous 22.1%, and the number of respondents who answered "don't know/don't answer" (DK/DA) also decreased to 7.9% from the previous 11.9%.

The increase in Jokowi's electability, according to the Kompas Research and Development survey, is due to a rise in overall satisfaction with the performance of the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla administration to 72.2% from the previous 70.8%. It is also attributed to the lack of certainty regarding the candidates who will run in the 2019 election. Since the April 2016 survey, electability has shown an upward trend.

The survey, conducted from March 21 to April 1, 2018, involved 1,200 respondents from 32 provinces, with the number determined proportionally. The method used was simple random sampling with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of +/- 2.8%.
