10 Potential Vice Presidential Candidates According to Indonesian Youth

According to a survey by Muda Bicara ID, there are 10 figures deemed worthy by Indonesian youth to become vice presidential candidates (cawapres) in the 2029 Election.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi ranked first with support from 18.38% of respondents.

Meanwhile, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka ranked 9th, chosen by 6.13% of respondents.

"Although Gibran is the vice president, his youth support base is not yet solid enough, which may be related to the evaluation of satisfaction with his performance," Muda Bicara ID stated in its report.

Additionally, 4.75% of respondents supported influencer Ferry Irwandi to run as a vice presidential candidate in the upcoming election. He is the only candidate with a civil society background whose name entered the running.

"This indicates that young people are open to figures from civil society and activist backgrounds as alternative leadership," Muda Bicara ID said.

In full, here are the 10 names deemed worthy of becoming vice presidential candidates in the 2029 Election according to the Muda Bicara ID survey:

1. Dedi Mulyadi: 18.38%
2. Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa: 14%
3. Muzakir Manaf: 13.50%
4. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono/AHY: 11.88%
5. Pramono Anung: 8.88%
6. Anies Baswedan: 8.63%
7. Sherly Tjoanda: 7.25%
8. Mahfud MD: 6.63%
9. Gibran Rakabuming Raka: 6.13%
10. Ferry Irwandi: 4.75%

The survey was conducted from November 10 to December 10, 2025, involving 800 respondents aged 17-40 years old, spread across Indonesia.

Data collection was carried out using the computer-assisted self-interviewing (CASI) method, with a survey margin of error of +/-5% at a 95% confidence level.
