Databoks is a data portal for economic and business statistics. It is part of Katadata, an online research and media company (katadata.co.id) established in 2012.
Databoks was created to facilitate companies, business actors, researchers, students, government, and media in quickly finding and processing economic and business data. Databoks' visual graphics are designed for various purposes, such as presentations, report creation, and strengthening media reporting.
This data portal is designed for ease of use by anyone. Simply type the name of the data you want to find in the search bar, then users can download the displayed graphics in PDF or PNG format for easy use in presentations or reports.
In addition, Databoks provides embed code so that bloggers or other users can directly embed the desired graphics into their blogs or websites.
Starting May 9, 2017, Databoks provides a special channel named DATASET. This channel is specifically created to contain public data owned by the government and private sectors. The detail page includes download and source reference facilities.
The datasets displayed are not data produced by Katadata Indonesia. The data comes directly from data owners such as Bank Indonesia, the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, and other sources from government and private institutions.
Official data sources from "Satu Data Indonesia" can be accessed through the website http://data.go.id. At the regional level, "Open Data" is also available on several other regional government data websites.
Databoks and datasets are initiatives by Katadata to consolidate public data scattered in various formats, both hardcopy and softcopy, such as txt, pdf, HTML tables, and presentations, and convert them into machine-readable digital formats such as kml, kmz, json, csv, and others.
Thus, it is hoped that difficulties in data processing can be reduced and the utilization of data by the general public can be improved.
