The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Prabowo Subianto, and the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, signed the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) on Thursday (19/2/2026).
According to the US presidential office, The White House, this new trade agreement paves the way for US products to enter Indonesia.
"The Trump Administration finalized a landmark trade agreement with Indonesia that will provide Americans with unprecedented market access," said The White House in a press release on Thursday (19/2/2026).
"Indonesia will eliminate tariff barriers on over 99% of U.S. products exported to Indonesia across all sectors, including for agricultural products, health products, seafood, information and communications technology, automotive products, and chemicals," they said.
Based on the ART document, Annex IV: Purchase Commitments, the agricultural products that Indonesia shall import from the US are:
- Soybeans: exceeding 2.5 million metric tons/year
- Wheat: exceeding 1.3 million metric tons/year
- Soybean meal: exceeding 200,000 metric tons/year
- Corn gluten meal: exceeding 150,000 metric tons/year
- Cotton: exceeding 150,000 metric tons/year
- Corn: exceeding 100,000 metric tons/year
- Beef and beef products: exceeding 50,000 metric tons/year
- Apples: exceeding 26,000 metric tons/year
- Fresh grapes: exceeding 5,000 metric tons/year
- Citrus fruit: exceeding 3,000 metric tons/year
- Ethanol: exceeding 1,000 metric tons/year
- Rice: exceeding 1,000 metric tons/year
"In cases where the annual import volumes of an agricultural commodity of U.S. origin listed do not meet the applicable amounts specified therein, and the United States determines that no trade barrier imposed by Indonesia has limited or otherwise prevented the import of that agricultural commodity, the United States shall not consider Indonesia to be in breach of its commitments," as quoted from the ART document.
