The 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Tabalong Regency reached Rp31.02 trillion. This represents a 4.9% growth compared to the previous year's Rp29.17 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the economic growth in this region is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth was recorded at a decrease of 2.5%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 260,560, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp117.75 million/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 57th.
Of the 17 sectors driving economic activity in this regency, mining and quarrying is the leading sector.
Mining and quarrying is the top-performing sector. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest amount to the GRDP, reaching Rp17.71 trillion, with a growth of 4.76%.
Second is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, which grew by 2.51% to Rp2.39 trillion, followed by the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector with a GRDP of Rp2.33 trillion (7.61%).
Finally, completing the top five GRDP contributors in Tabalong Regency is the construction sector with a value of Rp1.51 trillion. According to BPS, this sector grew by 7.93% over the past year from the previous achievement of Rp1.35 trillion.
