Average Length of Schooling in Brebes Regency Rises to 6.61 Years

The average length of schooling (RLS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Brebes, Central Java, reached 6.61 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the RLS of residents in the region is below the average for Central Java Province, which reached 8.15 years in 2025.

Brebes residents' RLS increased by 0.2 years (3.12%) compared to the previous year, which was 6.41 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the RLS rose by 0.4 years (6.44%).

This RLS indicates that, on average, Brebes residents only attend school up to the 6th grade of primary school. However, this RLS is still below the national average RLS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 34 other regencies/cities in Central Java Province, Brebes' RLS is in 35th position. Other areas in the province with the largest RLS are Salatiga City (11.49 years), while the lowest RLS is Brebes Regency (6.61 years).
