Foreign Tourist Visits to Indonesia in February 2026 Exceeded Last Year's Level

According to a report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 1.16 million visits by foreign tourists to Indonesia throughout February 2026.

The number decreased by 2.42% compared to January 2026 (month-to-month/mtm). However, compared to February last year, the number of visits increased by 13.37% (year-on-year/yoy).

Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in January-February 2026 reached 2.35 million, an increase of 7.77% (cumulative-to-cumulative/ctc) compared to the same period last year.

"The achievement of foreign tourist visits in January-February 2026 is the highest since 2021," said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng Hartono at a press conference on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

The majority of foreign tourists in February 2026 entered Indonesia through the main ports, with a total of 1 million visits. This was followed by 157,65 thousand visits through border entry points.

Based on their mode of transportation, a total of 782,60 thousand foreign tourists entered Indonesia by air transport; 184,60 thousand visits by sea transport; and 34,84 thousand visits by land transport.

In February 2026, the most foreign tourists came from Malaysia (17.18%), followed by tourists from China (13.01%), Singapore (9.43%), and Australia (9.26%).
