Based on a recent survey by Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas), the majority, or 77.5% of respondents, stated they did not change their support after watching the third 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2024) debate last weekend.

"The vast majority, or three-quarters (of respondents), already had fairly established choices," said Rangga Eka Sakti, a researcher at Litbang Kompas, as reported by Kompas TV's YouTube channel on Monday (8/1/2024).

Meanwhile, 10% admitted to changing their preferred presidential and vice-presidential candidates after watching the debate.

According to Rangga, this figure is relatively small, considering that approximately 20% of respondents were still undecided voters in the Litbang Kompas survey conducted in December 2023.

"This is then influenced by the debate process that has already taken place and will be held in the future," said Rangga.

Furthermore, 12% of respondents stated they did not know whether they would change their support or not.

This Litbang Kompas survey was conducted on January 7, 2024, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM WIB. A total of 210 respondents were randomly selected from the Litbang Kompas panel data, in accordance with the population proportion in each province.

The margin of error is approximately 6.75% at a 95% confidence level, under the condition of simple random sampling.
