East Java Food Prices Wednesday (January 8th): Onion, Sugar, and Rice Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are monitored to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (8/1/2025) at 11:30 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, bulk cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), broiler chicken, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken eggs, red chilies, garlic bulbs, mackerel, and pure beef decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Dry soybean (import) commodities surged the highest by Rp1,570 (15.83%) to Rp11,490 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chilies fell the sharpest by Rp11,030 (12.58%) to Rp76,620 per kg.
