Current Food Prices in Indonesia: Chili and Rice Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Sunday (12/1/2025) at 13:21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 6 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, bulk cooking oil, kembung fish, livestock-grade corn, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, premium rice, shallots, broiler chicken, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Livestock-grade corn experienced the highest price increase, jumping by Rp90 (1.43%) to Rp6,380 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies saw the steepest price drop, decreasing by Rp440 (0.87%) to Rp50,160 per kg.
