Prevalence of Insufficient Food Consumption in Sumbawa Increased by 0.44% in the Last Year

Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, reached 2.99% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.44% from the previous year's 2.55%, and by 0.51% over the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 7.89% in 2025. This means that the PoU in Sumbawa Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
