According to a survey by Algoritma Research & Consulting, the majority of respondents (41.8%) chose a presidential candidate (capres) for the 2024 Election based on the candidate's personal qualities, not due to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) influence.

However, 19.6% of respondents stated they would follow Jokowi's choice of presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, 17.7% of respondents said they would not follow Jokowi's choice of presidential candidate. The remaining 14.4% said they didn't know, while 6.6% did not answer the survey question.

The Algoritma survey also showed that the majority of respondents (45%) disagreed with Jokowi stating his political choice in the 2024 Election. However, 41.8% of respondents agreed that Jokowi should state his political choice.

The survey noted that Ganjar Pranowo was perceived as the most likely candidate supported by Jokowi among the three figures mentioned, at 39%. This was followed by Prabowo Subianto (20%), while the proportion of respondents who considered Anies Baswedan the most likely candidate was the lowest (9.2%).

The Algoritma survey was conducted from May 29 to June 10, 2023, involving 2,009 respondents across 34 Indonesian provinces. The survey used a face-to-face interview method with questionnaires. The margin of error is estimated at around 2.1% at a 95% confidence level.
