48.9% of respondents tended to consider this factor. Conversely, 37.6% chose not to consider candidates with familial ties to previous regional heads.

“This practice further reinforces that kinship politics is not a serious issue,” wrote Litbang Kompas.

This Litbang Kompas survey involved 1,200 respondents randomly selected using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 provinces in Indonesia.

Data collection was conducted from May 27 to June 2, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The margin of error is approximately 2.83%, with a 95% confidence level under simple random sampling conditions.
