Poltracking Poll: Dedi-Erwan Win by a Landslide in West Java

Poltracking Indonesia conducted a survey on the electability of gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates in a simulation of the 2024 West Java Regional Elections (Pilkada).

The results show that pair number 4, Dedi Mulyadi and Erwan Setiawan, achieved the highest electability at 65.9%.

Following them is the pair Ahmad Syaikhu and Ilham Habibie, chosen by 11.8% of respondents.

"The gap is very wide, with a difference of more than half of the voters, precisely around 54.1%," said Hanta Yuda, Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia, in an online presentation of the survey on Thursday (26/9/2024).

The electability of the pair Acep Adang Ruhiat and Gitalis Dwi Nataria was only 5.2%. This was followed by the pair Jeje Wiradinata and Ronal Surapradja with 2.9%.

Meanwhile, 14.2% are undecided voters or respondents who have not yet decided on their support in the 2024 West Java Regional Elections.

This Poltracking survey involved 1,200 respondents in West Java who meet the criteria of having voting rights or being married. The sample was selected using multistage random sampling.

Data collection was conducted from September 8-14, 2024, using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.9% and a 95% confidence level.
