Many Indonesians Are Satisfied With the Free Nutritious Meal Program

According to the Indikator survey, the majority or 72.8% of Indonesian respondents are satisfied with the free nutritious meal program (MBG).

In detail, 12.2% of respondents are very satisfied and 60.6% are fairly satisfied.

"(Respondents) who are fairly satisfied may very well change their opinions depending on the circumstances, depending on the BGN's ability to improve the quality," said Indikator's lead researcher Burhanuddin Muhtadi in his online survey presentation on Sunday (8/2/2026).

On the other hand, there are 19.9% of respondents who are less satisfied with the MBG program, 4.5% are not satisfied at all, and 2.8% did not respond or did not know.

The survey also recorded public perceptions regarding who should receive the MBG.

The results show that 60% of respondents believe that the MBG should be provided to all children in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 19.8% of respondents believe that the program should be focused specifically on children in remote areas.

The survey involved 1,220 respondents aged 17 and above spread across Indonesia. The respondents were selected through a multistage random sampling method.

The data collection was conducted from January 15-21, 2026 through face-to-face interviews with trained interviewers. The survey's margin of error is +/- 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
