A poll by Indikator Politik Indonesia, Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI), and Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) shows that 50.9% of respondents in Indonesia reject President Prabowo Subianto's decision to become a member of the Board of Peace (BoP).

This body, established by the President of the United States, is said to aim to find a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, such as the reconstruction of Gaza, the dispatch of military personnel, or a two-state solution.

The proportion of disapproval consists of 41.5% of respondents who said they do not agree and 9.4% who strongly disagree.

Meanwhile, as many as 26.1% of respondents said they agree. The breakdown is 21.6% agree and 4.5% strongly agree with Indonesia's involvement in the BoP.

"There are 17% who are truly indifferent, but the majority stated that they do not agree or strongly disagree with Indonesia becoming part of the BoP," said Chief Researcher of Indikator Politik Indonesia Burhanuddin Muhtadi in his online survey presentation on Thursday (2/4/2026).

The rejection is also more pronounced towards the idea of sending 8,000 Indonesian soldiers to Gaza as support for the BoP.

It was noted that 44.9% said they do not agree and 33.8% of respondents agree with this plan.

This survey involved 1,066 respondents aged 17 and above spread across Indonesia. The respondents were selected through a multistage random sampling method.

The data collection was conducted from March 12-31, 2026 through face-to-face interviews with trained interviewers with a survey error tolerance (margin of error) of plus-minus 6%.
