The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, confirmed the news of the procurement of motorcycles for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
A report by Katadata revealed that a video circulating on social media showed thousands of motorcycles stamped with the BGN logo piled up in a storage facility. These Emmo-branded motorcycles were still wrapped in plastic and neatly lined up.
In his written statement, Dadan said that the procurement was part of the 2025 budget planning. It was claimed to support the operations of the MBG program, particularly for the heads of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
"The procurement of these motorcycles is indeed included in the 2025 budget. Its function is to support the operations of the SPPG heads," said Dadan in a press release on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
The motorcycles consist of electric and conventional models, but the majority are electric. Dadan said that the process of gradually procuring the motorcycles began in December 2025.
However, he confirmed that the vehicles have not yet been distributed to the recipients. According to him, there are still administrative procedures that must be completed as state-owned assets (BMN).
Dadan also denied reports that the procurement of motorcycles for SPPG operations involved 70,000 units.
"The information about 70,000 units is not correct. The total procurement of electric motorcycles is 21,801 units out of the 25,000 units ordered in 2025," he said.
