The Food Consumption Adequacy Rate in Lima Puluh Kota Regency Decreased by 6.85% in 2023

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, reached 6.85% in 2023.

This figure is down 0.39% from the previous year's 7.24%, and down 0.19% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Lima Puluh Kota Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes insufficient food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
