The Indonesian survey institute, Indikator Indonesia, recorded public awareness levels of the campaigns of three presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairs.
These campaigns were "Desak Anies," "Prabowo Gemoy," and "Ganjar Nginap di Rumah Warga" (Ganjar Stays at Citizens' Homes).
The "Prabowo Gemoy" campaign, from the pair numbered 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was recognized by 63.3% of respondents, the most popular compared to its competitors.
According to Dedek Prayudi, Spokesperson for the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), the "gemoy" (cute/adorable) politics is an invitation to young people to exercise their right to vote in the 2024 General Election.
"Essentially, it's an invitation to young voters to engage in cheerful and joyful politics," said Dedek, as reported by *Antara* on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
Meanwhile, the "Ganjar Nginap di Rumah Warga" campaign, belonging to pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, was only known to 20.8% of respondents, while 79.2% were unaware of it.
Spokesperson for the Ganjar-Mahfud TKN, Aryo Seno Bagaskoro, explained that the "Ganjar Nginap di Rumah Warga" campaign program was not a gimmick.
"Mr. Ganjar usually does that. Sleeping at citizens' homes is part of his blusukan (grassroots approach), listening to the voices and needs of the people up close," said Seno, as reported by *Kompas TV* on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
Finally, there is the "Desak Anies" campaign belonging to pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, which had the lowest recognition rate.
"Although the format of the 'Desak Anies' event is exceptionally good, only 17.4% know about it, meaning it hasn't been maximized," said Burhanuddin Muhtadi, Executive Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia, in a virtual presentation of his survey on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
This survey involved 1,200 respondents aged 17 years and older or already married. The survey sample was taken using a multistage random sampling method from all Indonesian provinces proportionally.
Data collection was conducted from January 10-16, 2024, using face-to-face interview methods. The survey's margin of error is 2.9% with a 95% confidence level.
