These are the areas with the highest election vulnerability in DKI Jakarta.

General elections (Pemilu) are scheduled for February 2024. This five-yearly democratic event will take place simultaneously across all Indonesian provinces.

To ensure its smooth running, the Indonesian General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has compiled an Election Vulnerability Index (IKP), a mapping of potential disruptions to the democratic election process throughout the Indonesian archipelago.

East Jakarta has the highest IKP score in the Jakarta Capital Region, with a score of 65.14 on a scale of 0-100.

An IKP score of 0-13.46 falls into the low vulnerability category, 13.47-49.32 into the medium vulnerability category, and 49.33-100 into the high vulnerability category.

This means that the election in East Jakarta falls into the high or very high vulnerability category for disruption. East Jakarta is also the only area in DKI Jakarta to fall into this category.

The four other areas of the Jakarta Capital Region fall into the medium vulnerability category: Thousand Islands Regency (IKP 43.25), North Jakarta (IKP 38.06), Central Jakarta (IKP 32.93), and West Jakarta (IKP 26.89). South Jakarta falls into the low vulnerability category (IKP 9.4).

Bawaslu calculates the IKP based on four main indicators:

* Social and political context (security, election organizing authority, state organizing authority)
* Election administration (right to vote, campaign implementation, voting implementation, adjudication and election objections)
* Contestation (right to be elected, candidate campaigning)
* Participation (voter participation, community group participation)
