Today's Food Prices (17/3) in Indonesia: Red Chili Up, Soybeans Down

Several food commodity prices in Indonesia today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Tuesday (March 17, 2026) at 14:23 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 15 increased and 1 decreased.

Commodities with price increases include medium rice, beef hindquarter, red cayenne pepper, chicken eggs, and shallots.

Meanwhile, only imported soybeans decreased compared to yesterday's price.

Curly red chili prices jumped the highest by Rp2,453 (5.7%) to Rp45,501 per kg. As for imported soybeans, the price dropped the deepest by Rp3 (0.02%) to Rp13,320 per kg.

2. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp82,595 per kg (up 4.53%)
3. Large Red Chili: Rp47,639 per kg (up 4.23%)
4. Curly Red Chili: Rp45,501 per kg (up 5.7%)
5. Chicken Meat: Rp41,442 per kg (up 0.89%)
6. Shallots: Rp40,397 per kg (up 0.58%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp36,296 per kg (up 0.28%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp31,198 per kg (up 0.21%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp21,237 per liter (up 0.11%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,832 per liter (up 0.39%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp17,999 per kg (up 0.14%)
12. Minyakita: Rp15,876 per liter (up 0.01%)
13. Premium Rice: Rp15,344 per kg (up 0.05%)
