Drone Emprit founder, Ismail Fahmi, released the results of a sentiment analysis of Twitter users' opinions regarding the presidential candidates during the third 2024 Presidential Election debate, which took place on Sunday (7/1/2024).
This analysis was conducted during the debate, specifically from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM WIB.
Presidential candidate number 2, Anies Baswedan, received the highest percentage of positive sentiment on Twitter, at 76%. Meanwhile, the proportion of negative sentiment was 14%, and neutral sentiment was 10%.
According to Drone Emprit's findings, the positive sentiment towards Anies was related to his bold attacks on his opponents and his presentation of extensive data.
However, Anies also received negative sentiment for being perceived as overly personal in his attacks, talking too much, and failing to adequately present his ideas and programs.
Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, achieved the second-highest positive sentiment at 72%, with 11% negative sentiment and 17% neutral sentiment.
"Ganjar Pranowo is sometimes viewed as a more neutral or less dominant figure in the debate, with several tweets satirizing him for his perceived passive attitude," wrote Ismail Fahmi on his personal Twitter account on Monday (8/1/2024).
Meanwhile, presidential candidate number 1, Prabowo Subianto, only received 40% positive sentiment. His negative sentiment was higher, at 54%, with 6% neutral sentiment.
"Prabowo Subianto received special attention regarding his extensive land ownership, which some netizens interpreted as contrasting with issues of social injustice and defense needs," said Ismail.
Ismail mentioned that Prabowo was also criticized for being easily provoked, frequently interrupting, and stating that Gaza was attacked because of its weakness.
On the positive side, the Minister of Defense was considered successful in attacking Anies regarding ethical standards, and coined the new phrase "omon-omon" (meaning roughly "empty talk" or "nonsense"), which was received humorously.
"Sentiment analysis shows that Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo tended to receive positive responses, while Prabowo received more negative responses from netizens," said Ismail.
