Kompas Research and Development: Ganjar's Electability Starts to Match Prabowo's

A Kompas Research and Development survey shows that Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo have the highest electability as presidential candidates. Both received support from 13.9% of respondents in Indonesia.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is next with an electability of 9.6%. Following him is West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, supported by 5.1% of respondents.

Social Minister Tri Rismaharini's electability is recorded at 4.9%. Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno's electability is 4.6%.

4.5% of respondents supported Pertamina's Chief Commissioner Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok. 1.9% of respondents supported the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

The electability of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Polhukam), Mahfud MD, is recorded at 1.2%. Meanwhile, former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo has an electability of 1.1%.

Ganjar is the only figure who has consistently experienced an increase in electability in the last five surveys conducted by Litbang Kompas. In October 2019, Ganjar only received support from 1.8% of respondents.

Ganjar's electability has steadily increased with his increasingly massive public appearances. He received support from 7.3% of respondents, the third highest after Prabowo (16.4%) and Anies (10.0%).

Ganjar's electability has risen again to 13.9% currently. He is the first figure to match Prabowo's electability since the 2019 Presidential Election.

Note that Litbang Kompas surveyed 1,200 respondents across Indonesia from September 26 to October 9, 2021. This survey used a stratified systematic sampling method with a margin of error of 2.8% and a 95% confidence level.
