Candidates Most Frequently Reported for Election Offenses in West Sumatra, 2019

Based on DataTalk's report, in the 2019 General Election in West Sumatra, the most frequently reported violators were legislative candidates. A total of 60 legislative candidates were reported for election violations.

In addition to legislative candidates, 56 election officials were reported for violations. This was followed by 28 individuals from political parties.

Furthermore, 19 civil servants (ASN) were also reported for election violations. Following this, 15 presidential candidates were reported for violations.

Next, campaign teams and government officials were also reported for election violations, with 12 and 6 individuals reported respectively. Meanwhile, 6 voters were reported for election violations, while the identities of another 6 remain unknown.

Based on incident category, the majority of the 2019 regional election (Pilkada) violations in West Sumatra were administrative violations, totaling 65. This was followed by 30 violations where the nature of the violation was unknown. Campaign organization violations, as well as neutrality and code of ethics violations, each totaled 27.

Based on region, the Agam Regency Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency) received the most reports of election violations in 2019, with 22 reports. The Solok Regency Bawaslu followed with 19 reports, and the Padang Pariaman Regency Bawaslu with 17 reports.
