Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra on February 26: Bird's Eye Chili Rises, Red Chili Falls

Several food commodity prices in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (February 26, 2026) at 15:59 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 8 decreased.

Commodities that saw price increases include bulk granulated sugar, Honan garlic, premium packaged palm cooking oil, red bird's eye chili, and Minyakita.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as bulk palm cooking oil, broiler chicken eggs, curly red chili, premium rice, and wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili prices rose the most by Rp2,012 (3.73%) to Rp56,000 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chili prices fell the sharpest by Rp2,917 (6.48%) to Rp42,125 per kg.

5. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp38,003 per kg (up 1.39%)
6. Honan Garlic: Rp35,286 per kg (up 0.1%)
7. Shallots: Rp32,567 per kg (down 2.08%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,737 per kg (down 0.26%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,608 per liter (up 0.16%)
10. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp18,251 per kg (up 0.07%)
11. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp17,731 per liter (down 0.17%)
