Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra on February 27: Onions Rise, Red Chilies Fall

Some food commodity prices in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Friday (February 27, 2026) at 15:59 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 8 decreased.

Commodities that increased in price are shallots, medium rice, broiler chicken eggs, premium rice, and bulk palm cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, large red chilies, premium packaged palm cooking oil, red bird's eye chilies, and Minyakita decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots jumped the highest by Rp245 (0.75%) to Rp32,812 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chili prices dropped the most by Rp2,000 (4.75%) to Rp40,125 per kg.

7. Shallots: Rp32,812 per kg (up 0.75%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,804 per kg (up 0.23%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,576 per liter (down 0.16%)
10. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp18,273 per kg (up 0.12%)
