Indomie is the instant noodle brand most frequently consumed by the majority of Indonesian consumers. This is based on a survey conducted by Kurious from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC).
88.6% of respondents admitted to consuming Indomie instant noodles most often in the past year.
Next, 68.9% of respondents said they frequently consumed Mie Sedaap in the past year. Then, 32.3% of respondents consumed Supermi during the same period.
On the other hand, respondents who frequently consumed Lemonilo, Mi Sukses, ABC, Richeese, Samyang, Bakmi Mewah, Mi Sakura, Gaga, and Nongshim, consumed these brands less often than the top three instant noodle brands mentioned above, as shown in the graph.
This is also consistent with the survey's findings that Indomie is the most popular instant noodle brand in Indonesia among respondents.
The majority of respondents chose to consume instant noodles that tasted better than other brands (75.3%) and were readily available in shopping centers (65.7%). On the other hand, only a small percentage of respondents (14.4%) consumed instant noodle products because of numerous purchase promotions.
Kurious-KIC surveyed 667 respondents spread across various regions of Indonesia, with 50.4% male respondents and 49.6% female respondents.
More than half of the respondents were from Java Island excluding Jakarta (63.4%), followed by Jakarta (14.4%), and Sumatra (10.9%).
Most respondents were aged between 35-44 years (32.8%), followed by the 25-34 age group (28.2%) and the 45-54 age group (22%).
The survey was conducted from December 26, 2022, to January 2, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 3.79% and a 95% confidence level.
