Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Meat Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) at 08:01 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include corn at the farmer level, packaged wheat flour, consumption sugar, pure beef, and SPHP rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as large red chili, curly red chili, garlic cloves, skipjack tuna, and red onion decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken meat saw the highest increase of Rp5,018 (13.73%) to Rp41,571 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of garlic cloves dropped most sharply by Rp33,770 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.

7. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,333 per liter (down 2.42%)
8. Consumption Sugar: Rp18,667 per kg (up 2.9%)
