West Sumatra's Medium I Rice Price is the Nation's Highest (Monday, August 12, 2024)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of Rp 15,820 per kg for medium-grade I rice (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces as of Monday, August 12, 2024. Overall, the average price this week increased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 15,790 per kg.

The daily price of medium-grade I rice in modern markets in West Sumatra was the highest in Indonesia, at Rp 18,150 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of medium-grade I rice in this province is higher, previously recorded at Rp 17,550 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Maluku's modern markets, medium-grade I rice was sold at Rp 18,000 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of medium-grade I rice in West Papua was Rp 17,750 per kg, Banten Rp 17,450 per kg, and Papua Rp 17,300 per kg.

Meanwhile, 14 provinces had medium-grade I rice prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for medium-grade I rice were West Nusa Tenggara, North Sumatra, and Riau Islands.
