East Java Food Prices Monday (8/7): Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (8/7/2024) at 11:01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, milkfish, dry soybean (import), granulated sugar, and curly red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, broiler eggs, shallots, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp3,790 (10.37%) to Rp40,340 per kg. Iodized fine salt saw the largest price decrease, falling Rp570 (6.04%) to Rp8,870 per kg.
