Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Buleleng Increased by 1.51% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Buleleng Regency, Bali, reached 6.98% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.32% from the previous year's 6.66%, and by 1.51% in the last 5 years.

Indonesia's average PoU was 7.89% in 2025. This means that the PoU in Buleleng Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This means that less than 6.98% of Buleleng Regency's total population consumes food but lacks sufficient energy.
