The Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at current prices (ADHB) in Sarolangun Regency in 2024 was recorded at Rp22.7 million. The GDP of this regency grew by 3.7% compared to the previous year's Rp21.51 million.
However, based on historical data, compared to the post-COVID-19 pandemic period, the growth in this region has not been better as it recorded lower growth.
According to BPS publications, with a total population of 310.29 thousand people, the per capita GDP in this region was recorded at Rp74,063 thousand per capita per year. This per capita GDP ranks 128th nationally.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector is the leading one.
The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector in Sarolangun Regency is the flagship sector and contributed the largest share of GDP in 2024, reaching Rp7.22 million. This GDP grew by 4.64% compared to the previous year's Rp6.24 million.
In second place is the mining and quarrying sector with negative growth of -0.1%, reaching Rp4.8 million, while the construction sector GDP grew by 4.57% to Rp2.78 million.
In addition, other sectors contributing to the top five are government administration, defense and compulsory social security with a GDP of Rp1.11 million.

In terms of distribution level, the main sector contributing the largest GDP growth in Sarolangun Regency is the mining and quarrying sector with a contribution of 31.53%. Other sectors in the top five are agriculture, forestry and fisheries, construction, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and information and communication.
Meanwhile, the sectors with the smallest distribution are Other Services Sector, Real Estate Sector, Business Services Sector, Water Supply; Waste Management, Waste and Recycling Sector and Electricity and Gas Supply Sector.
