116 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Thursday, December 25, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows that 116 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 19 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of satellite imagery from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA, accessed on Thursday (25/12/2025) at 11.36 AM Western Indonesian Time. Of the 116 detected hotspots, 114 were medium-scale and 2 were low-scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale ranges from 0 - 29, the medium scale from 30 - 79, and the high scale from 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in East Kalimantan with 17 points. Central Sulawesi ranked second with 16 hotspots. Bengkulu was in third place with 11 hotspots.

A total of 9 hotspots were detected in Jambi, followed by Riau with 8 hotspots, and South Sulawesi and West Sumatra each having 7 and 6 detected hotspots.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and is not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires over large areas.
