Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Sikka Reaches 12.91% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, reached 12.91% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.11% from the previous year's 12.8%, while decreasing by 3.93% in the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 7.89% in 2025. This means that the PoU in Sikka Regency was higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 12.91% of the total population in Sikka Regency consumes food but lacks sufficient energy.
