Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Toba Samosir Increased by 4.0% in the Last 5 Years

Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, was 7.72% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.81% from the previous year's 6.91%, while in the last 5 years, it rose by 4.0%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Toba Samosir Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.
