Prevalence of Insufficient Food Consumption in Kuantan Singingi Reached 11.47% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau reached 11.47% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 2.28% from the previous year''s 13.75%, while over the last 5 years, it increased by 1.91%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Kuantan Singingi Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 11.47% of the total population in Kuantan Singingi Regency consumes food but lacks sufficient energy intake.
