Sangihe Islands' Population Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Drops to 10.0% in 2025

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Sangihe Islands Regency, North Sulawesi was 10.0% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 2.6% from the previous year's 12.6%, while in the last 5 years it increased by 3.28%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Sangihe Islands Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.
