Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in South Barito Decreased by 0.27% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) in South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan reached 10.71% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.11% from the previous year's 10.82%, while in the last 5 years it decreased by 0.27%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in South Barito Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to see food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of South Barito Regency who consume food but lack energy needs account for up to 10.71% of the total population.
