Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Anambas Islands Reaches 9.04% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Islands, reached 9.04% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 4.67% from the previous year's 13.71%, while it increased by 4.38% over the last 5 years.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Anambas Islands Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.
