Symptoms reported include mood changes (26%), changes in sleep quality (19%), excessive fear or anxiety (18%), severe fatigue (10%), and confusion, anger, irritability, fear, anxiety, and restlessness (8%).
How do Indonesians address these mental health symptoms or disorders?
The same research reports that only 9% of respondents consulted professionals, such as psychologists or psychiatrists, when facing mental health problems. The majority (73%) coped by praying and drawing closer to God. The second most common method was ensuring sufficient sleep and rest (55%).
