Indonesia's Trade Balance with South Africa Shows a US$0.12 Billion Deficit

Indonesia's trade balance with South Africa recorded a deficit of US$ 0.12 billion in 2020. This trade deficit decreased by 48.61% compared to the previous year's balance, which was recorded at US$ -0.23 billion.

The improvement in the trade balance, according to Trademap data, was supported by Indonesia's export value, which reached US$ 572.2 million. However, Indonesia's imports from South Africa in 2020 were higher than exports, reaching US$ 688.88 million.

Indonesia's exports to South Africa have been on a downward trend over the past year. The previous year's export value was US$ 588.83 million.

Imports, according to Trademap data, decreased by 15.57% compared to the previous year, which was recorded at US$ 815.88 million.

Based on product type, there were 10 main export products from Indonesia to South Africa that recorded a surplus during 2020. The total value of these main exports reached US$ 254.28 million.
