Populix conducted a survey on the workplace benefits needed by working women in Indonesia.
The results show that the majority, or 28% of respondents, stated a need for child and family allowances.
Furthermore, 25% needed childcare facilities, and 25% needed a work-from-anywhere (WFA) system.
Additionally, 22% needed menstrual leave, 19% needed appearance allowances, 13% needed lactation room facilities, and 7% wanted maternity leave exceeding 3 months.
Meanwhile, only 24% of respondents stated that their company's support facilities were sufficient.
"This preference highlights the importance of implementing family-friendly policies to facilitate a better work-life balance for women," said the Populix team in their report titled *Women's Equality in the Workplace*.
This survey also recorded a number of special rights already obtained by working women in Indonesia. It was noted that the majority, or 76% of respondents, had already received maternity leave exceeding 3 months.
Furthermore, 37% had received WFA facilities, 29% had access to lactation rooms, and 29% received menstrual leave from their companies.
Populix conducted this online survey from March 20-24, 2024, targeting 424 working women in Indonesia.
The majority of respondents were located on Java (81%), followed by Sumatra (13%), and other islands (7%). Respondents were dominated by the 17-25 age group (45%) and the 26-35 age group (27%).
