According to a survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), 18.2% of Indonesians accessed artificial intelligence (AI) content in 2026.

Of this group, the majority, or 36.5%, frequently access AI content for entertainment, such as generative videos or images.

This proportion has increased compared to 2025, when only 29.5% accessed similar content.

On the other hand, the proportion of respondents accessing AI content for education and research, such as chatbots or academic summaries, has decreased from 43.9% (2025) to 30.2% (2026).

Those accessing AI content for work or productivity, such as automated writing, copywriting, and data analysis, have increased from 12.3% (2025) to 26.9% (2026).

Meanwhile, those using AI as a digital assistant, such as through apps like Siri, Google Assistant, and Bixby, have decreased from 13.5% (2025) to 6.4% (2026), as shown in the graph.

APJII obtained this data from a survey of a total of 8,700 respondents aged at least 13 years, distributed proportionally across 38 Indonesian provinces. The sample was selected using the multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from February 1 to March 15, 2026, through face-to-face interviews, with a margin of error of +/- 1.1%.
