Food and beverage businesses in Indonesia utilize various promotional methods to market their businesses and products. With the advancement of technology, online media is the most widely used promotional tool.
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that 71.74% of food and beverage businesses used online media to promote their businesses or food products in 2020.
Furthermore, 36.64% of businesses used banners for promotion, and 30.16% used brochures. Another 8.65% still used television/radio as a promotional tool.
Additionally, 7.41% promoted through newspapers/magazines, and 10.07% used other media for promotion.
BPS also noted that in the current digital era, the majority of food and beverage businesses have utilized online sales, namely 85.55%.
The most commonly used method for online sales is through third-party ordering services, accounting for 61.69%. This is followed by social media at 49.69%, while only 17.62% utilize websites.
