Based on data from *Internetworldstat*, the number of internet users in Asia reached 2.93 billion in July 2022. This means that internet penetration in Asia is only 67.4% of the total estimated population of 4.35 billion.

Brunei Darussalam has the highest internet penetration rate in Asia, reaching 119.7% of its total population in July 2022. Internet users in Brunei reached 531,800, exceeding its total population of 444,340. This indicates that each resident in Brunei uses more than one internet connection.

Other Asian countries with the highest internet penetration rates include South Korea (97%), Macao (95.2%), Taiwan (94.8%), and Malaysia (93.8%).
