According to a survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), the majority of respondents deemed President Jokowi's behavior towards the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) inappropriate, citing his lack of clear support for Ganjar Pranowo, the party's presidential candidate.

39% of respondents considered the attitude inappropriate, while 8% deemed it completely inappropriate.

Conversely, 30% of respondents considered Jokowi's stance appropriate, and 23% were either unsure or did not respond.

SMRC founder Saiful Mujani stated that the data indicates weak public moral support for Jokowi.

"It's interesting how Jokowi, a successful cadre who rose through the ranks of the PDIP, doesn't definitively support the presidential candidate chosen by his own party," Saiful said during an online press conference on the SMRC YouTube channel on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

"Increasingly, people are convinced that Jokowi doesn't support Ganjar," he added.

The PDIP is currently nominating the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD ticket as presidential and vice-presidential candidates, holding the number 3 ballot position.

The SMRC survey involved 2,400 respondents, assumed to represent the entire Indonesian population.

The survey was conducted from October 29 to November 5, 2023, using a stratified multistage random sampling method.

The response rate was 81% of the total respondents, with a margin of error of 2.3% at a 95% confidence level.
