Hungarian Grand Prix Victory Puts Max Verstappen in the Lead of the 2023 F1 World Championship Standings

The 11th Formula 1 (F1) race at the Hungaroring Circuit in Hungary concluded on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen won the race, extending his lead in the championship standings with a total of 281 points.

Verstappen led from the first lap in Hungary, overtaking Lewis Hamilton, who started from pole position. Verstappen impressively became the first driver to complete all 70 laps, despite not starting from pole position.

This victory marks Verstappen's seventh consecutive win.

Verstappen's win also helped Red Bull Racing achieve 12 consecutive victories, a new record in F1 history.

Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull Racing, Sergio Perez, finished second in the championship standings with 171 points. Starting ninth, the Mexican driver skillfully overtook his opponents one by one.

Fernando Alonso is in third place with 156 points, while Lewis Hamilton is fourth with 133 points.
