KPI: Ahok's Electability is the Lowest

A survey by the Indonesian Political Consulting Institute (LKPI) shows Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Sylviana Murni with the highest electability in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Incumbent Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Djarot Saiful Hidayat, on the other hand, are ranked last.

Political observer from Jakarta State University, Ubedillah Badrun, as reported by *tempo.co*, stated that Agus-Sylvi's high electability is due to the positive public response to their campaign promises. Agus's promise to provide approximately Rp 400,000 in aid to impoverished Jakartans was well-received by the capital's residents. Furthermore, their ideal ethnic combination and Agus's firm yet polite character are additional reasons. Meanwhile, Ahok's lagging position, according to LKPI Executive Director Dendi Susianto, is attributed to his policies and comments regarding Al-Maidah 51.

The LKPI survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents from October 25 to November 3, 2016. Respondents were proportionally determined based on the number of voters and regions in Jakarta. The margin of error is estimated to be approximately 2.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
