Most People Agree That the Metro Jaya and West Java Police Chiefs Should Be Removed Following Rizieq's Event

Rizieq Shihab's daughter's wedding ceremony was deemed a violation of Covid-19 health protocols. Consequently, Indonesian National Police Chief General Idham Azis dismissed Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sujana. Furthermore, Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi, the West Java Police Chief, was also removed from his post.

According to a survey by Saifulmujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), 28% of citizens were aware of the news regarding the dismissals of Inspector General Nana Sujana and Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi. Of that number, 48% of respondents agreed with General Idham Azis's decision. Meanwhile, 37% disagreed, and 14% chose not to answer or didn't know.

SMRC conducted a face-to-face survey of 1,201 respondents aged 17 and above. The data collection, which took place from November 18-21, 2020, has a margin of error of ±2.9% with a 95% confidence level.

With the continued increase in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, the government continues to promote the 3M movement. The hope is that the public will habituate themselves to washing their hands with soap and running water, wearing masks, and maintaining physical distancing.
